“It is the journey that is important, not the getting there.” It has been an interesting and fruitful 13 weeks of CPD 2 sessions. The main goal that I had set for myself at the beginning would be to improve on my public speaking and presentation skills. Additionally, I would like to work on my professional writing skills whether it is for emails or formal writing.
Throughout the entire CPD 2 journey, I have managed to gain some confidence in speaking out in front of class through the various class activities that were conducted. During the SEP, there were many constructive and valuable feedback that I received with regards to my presentation skills during both the mock and actual presentation. I have always strive to continually work towards improving myself in every aspect which is why I appreciate the feedback that I received which has allowed me to know the direction where I have to improve in. While I felt that my presentation went well, I found out that I had to work on my pace and speed of presentation through the feedback. Additionally, I learned that it is also important to establish eye contact during a presentation which I was failed to do so at times. As for my professional writing skills, I felt that consistently uploading blog posts while being able to receive feedback was really constructive. I was able to pin point the parts of my writing that needed improvements and was given the opportunity to rectify the issues.
Therefore, I will continue on this never ending journey of self-improvement with regards to my communication skills through more practices as well as more reading and communicating.
